"Think globally, act locally," is a well-cited idiom amongst ecologists. To think it & believe it is one thing. To act upon it is
another. The only way to change the world around us is to begin by changing ourselves. We must first transform our habits & those of our immediate society in order to positively alter the environment in
which we live so that we may evolve in harmony with it.Together with Tergos as your designer / architect / general contractor, you become yourself an actor. Together we participate in tilting the
scales towards creating a better, healthier, greener world for this & the next generations. We become part of the solution to some of the world's impeding disasters. |

each Project is an Encounter - An encounter with individuals, their life styles, & their values begins
each new project. It continues with a rendez-vous with a site, its potential & its constraints, by considering each of the customers' needs & ideas. That is why each building, whether a house, an
office place, or a factory, is unique & allows us as a species to take a step, or several, towards the concrete application of the principles of sustainable development. The principles of sustainability
must form the basis of every architectural & construction project, & this, we believe, at a worldwide scale. This is all the more imperative when creating homes. The increased quality of life which
derives from applying green architectural principles in our built habitats must be accessible to the whole of humanity. As Humans, this is a fundamental right. Equilibrium, Energy, Efficiency - We promote equilibrium between architecture & the environment in which it is inscribed through the use of harmonious
volumes which integrate themselves to the landscape or builtscape. Through the use of natural materials, healthy & authentic, recycled & recyclable, local materials, this is achieved. By integrating
the building to the site's topographic & climatic characteristics & through the study of sun paths & dominating winds, we promote energy efficiency & economy. Indoor / outdoor interpenetrating
spaces & the contraction & expansion of the living space throughout the seasons are two of the strategies which allow us to build creative & integrated architecture. This is an architecture adapted to
its users in their environment, whether it be built or natural. Finally, functionality of space is important to us & much attention is given to spatial efficiency. Through careful detailing, use of
integrated furniture, and a well-resolved plan, we leave no cubic-foot un-thought of. |
